Ideal "Best-in-Slot" Gear List

(1/2) > >>

Slvr Stryker:
As requested, posting the links to the pages that I use when I reference Best-in-Slot gear for jobs.
Fair comment: these are combined knowledge from FFXI Guild, with *their* views on what stats are important for which jobs.  Almost every piece of equipment posted there is linked to XIVDB, so you'll be able to view the stats on the equipment, and it all apparently changes with every major update and every piece of equipment available, so it's very up-to-date.

So, without further ado, the lists for:
Bard
Dragoon
Monk
Paladin
Warrior
Black Mage
Scholar
Summoner
White Mage

EDIT: Figure I would post this: this is not the end-all, be-all list of best gear in slot, it's just the one I personally use.  I gladly invite anyone to post their own guides or gear lists that they use to formulate best-in-slot gearsets, like Eribee did below. =)

Draconics:
The Summoner one notes the lack of Accuracy required for Coil.  A good explanation of SMN I found here on the Reddit.  It gives a few options for near-identical setups (DRT heavy versus Crit heavy while maintaining the ACC).

This is a LINK!

Umfufu Murphy:
I used this site's info to make a Excel workbook so I could have a side-by-side listing for classes that use common gear. I will try to get it up here tonight when I get home if anyone is interested. However, come 2.2 most if it will be irrelevant.

Mynt:
That WHM itemization reasoning <3

"Hey let's assume I'm always chaincasting and never interrupt any cast, spell speed is the best stat".

Haste always is, and always has been the worst stat for healers, unless either:

A. It scales significantly better than other secondary stats
B. It scales better than simply more haste = most spell casts (For example with haste providing extra/faster hot ticks)
C. Mana is a non-issue (And even then, you'd usually weave in more time efficient spells at the expanse of mana efficiency, instead of chaincasting low efficiency spells)

Edit for clarity : none of the above are valid for FF14

Mynt:
To be a bit more constructive, this is what I'm using, but to be fair, there's little variety so just avoiding spell speed on as many gear pieces as possible is enough of a general rule for itemization. Innate spell speed feels comfortable enough, and the increase from gear is quite marginal.
