So, I've had a few people ask me over the last few weeks who all's going to be joining us in FF14.
I wanted to make a thread here, to kinda try to keep track of everyone who'll be coming with us, so we can kinda start getting an idea of who's going to be running with us.
That said, please reply to this thread with the Name you plan to use for your character! ^^
I'll be compiling a list, here, in this thread so we can get a nice, full roster. :D

I'll be joining the Excalibur crew once early access goes live. Tried to create a character towards the end of B4 but ended up just making one on an EU server or something that was open, lol. >.< Not sure what name I'll use yet, but you can guess it'll have Stubbs in there somewhere. ;)

Sooooo after days and tons of errors that the servers are always full I, as of now have made a char on Excalibur. \o/ Can't believe it. Narysa Hanabi. Feel free to add me. I am thankful for anyone who helps me get through Eorzea safely. :)

So went to buy game at local BB today. Didn't have it, not selling it in stores, not surprising, so figured I need to buy it online but haven't yet. Seems like lots of issues especially getting logged in, cant believe there is no AFK timer... Might wait till that is resolved before getting the game. Don't know yet.

Dark, you can also buy the game digitally -- and it's a tad cheaper, too.
I'll update here on the forums when the character creation limitations are lifted

So looks like no digital purchase for me, and they suspended character creation. Not a great idea to turn away customers. Seems like Square was woefully unprepared for this launch....

The same can be said for almost any MMO. SE didn't think the game would honestly be as popular as it turned out to be, which looking at 1.0 I can TOTALLY understand. 1.0 w as a flaming pile of dog shit.
I say, give it a week and things will be much better. They're opening new servers next week and increasing capacity on current ones.

I suppose, I've played enough to experience queues and downtime. But don't know if I've ever seen a complete stoppage of online sales...
I'll just wait, wanted to play but might be for the best to wait this stuff out, especially if they aren't even letting people make new toons on the server that we are on.

They are working on upgrading server capacity first, then will allow digital purchase again, it sounds like it might be done over the weekend, but nothing definitive yet. Your best bet would be to watch the twitter feed on the left of the site, since it links straight to their news account

So I've been reading on this maintenance today and cant seem to find anything at all about the resumption of digital sales. I can understand if new character creation on the existing servers is blocked, but I would just like to play the damn game and would be content to play a toon on any server. Anyone heard anything about being able to purchase the game once this is completed?

EDIT: I hear they may be sold out, however, I know SE is selling box copies on their store, now.
