We know that Wod will be on a 1 tank, 5 DPS, 2 healer format, just like Syrcus Tower, and that loot will be locked to once a week. Rumors are that gear and upgrade items will have separate locks, but we're waiting on the patch notes for confirmation.
For anyone wanting to join, make sure that you get it unlocked before Wednesday, it hopefully will be a relatively short quest (long cutscenes are okay, not hunting for 4 FATEs :P).
Write down your prefered role (Tank, DPS, Healer), and alternate if we need to shuffle things. Because of the Linkshell not being properly setup yet, I don't want to put priority on singups just yet. I will attempt to get 24 people in balanced groups as much as possible.

Can be DRG or NIN if the party is short on melee, but I'm going for BLM gear, so it would be cool if other casters in my party would greed instead of need so I have a fair shot.

Hopefully I can bring my monk. Will work on this today. Might only make the later run if I end up asking my dad to take me to buy cat food. Will confirm later today.
Edit: Can confirm will be there for both runs. Now I just have to unlock it.... :P
Edit2: Was asked by the bees to mention his participation as SMN > BLM > PLD > SCH. (Both runs if his raid group cancels, otherwise just the first)

Its pretty much 5-10 minutes to unlock it, cutscenes only, and not all that lengthy either, so that shouldn't be a problem!

Giving notice, unforeseen circumstances at work could prevent me from actually making it at all. If I'm on time, I'll poke ingame.

Looking at the list I can't tell if it's full for dps or not o.o.
But I'm going to be doing this as my main SMN for as long as it takes me to get the caster body and shoes, then I'll switch to my secondary SCH for the pieces I need for that. Also have a BLM, but generally stick to smn unless blm is requested.
Reading one of the posts, I have too many bad experiences of groups fighting because people expect priority for loot. I really hope this isn't one of those groups since it makes things not fun for others. I joined because going in with an organized group is much better than DF. So if it's truly a fair group, we should be allowed to need on whatever we want and may the luckiest person win. I mean... we only get one drop week. I do pass on items at times for people I find are really kind and helpful, but those are the types that don't demand things anyway ^^;
I'm sorry if I misunderstood anything to bring this up. I really really hate confrontation ;__; But I just want to have fun and not re-experience the same type of drama from this topic.

To clarify any confusion :
There are 3 parties of 1 Tank, 2 healers, 5 DPS.
So we mark them like this :
A- Tank
B- Tank
C- Tank
A- Healer
A- Healer
B- Healer
B- Healer
C- Healer
C- Healer
A- DPS
A- DPS
A- DPS
A- DPS
A- DPS
B- DPS
B- DPS
B- DPS
B- DPS
B- DPS
C- DPS
C- DPS
C- DPS
C- DPS
C- DPS
Basically, the A- B- C- represents the alliance letter once we're in. So if there is 5 DPS in group A, we start building the second party (party B).
As for looting rules, check the 'Information' sticky. We ask people to be fair and courteous, and keep in mind that people might be playing on a different class to help balance the teams. Essentially, we ask people to avoid using 'Need' without reason. Communication is key! We don't enjoy ninja looter either.
So we suggest parties to clear up what they would like to receive during the run, regardless of their current class. Like I go as a Tank, but I'd like to get healing gear, because my tank is good enough and I rather equip my WHM right now.
If people really want to get the same piece, then to be fair they should be 'greeding' against each other instead of 'needing'. Need should be used only if you are the only one wanting that piece of gear, especially when playing among friends!

Yeah, I just read the new thread. I made my post before seeing it and I'm glad there is a set system. I guess I assumed at this stage of new content, people were going in as their main jobs, but I can understand the situation of balancing with secondary jobs.
I mean as long as it's not a higher number of people greeding than the normal amount that would be needing (if on main job), I'm totally cool with that.
SMN really hasn't had much decent gear to work with and finally they put 2 pieces in that are worth something to the job (I'll be passing on all other caster gear). So I'm just really excited to properly gear mine. I don't really know anyone in this group yet, but I always like making friends in game outside of my FC to have more people to do stuff with. And overall I hope to have a fun experience with people which is more important to me than gear anyway.
p.s. I already screwed myself this week by accidently greeding on something I didn't need... got lag and the cursor didn't move properly ;__; So I can be put in a group with anyone that really needs the caster gear since I'll be forced to pass on everything this week.

We might need healers if you have that properly geared, so that's a possibility too.
Either way there's something to gain even if you cannot loot on gear, as there's the final chest that has raid-wide rewards (like minion and Syrcus shard), and the weekly repeatable quest for the catalyst and carboncoat. So it's not a waste to run at least!

As far as healing, my sch is equipped, but I tend to do new content as dps before I'm confident to heal it. I can be a last resort if a healer is desperately needed (and paired with a good healer that can cover if I screw up ;_;), but I'm definitely better as dps in this for this week at least.
